CLK 500 Center console issues
 

I have just acquired a 2003 CLK 500, the center console appears to have multiple opening options (up/down, left side, right side) however none of it appears to work and the top lid is now completely detached.

Anyone tell me how to put it back so that the latches all work - is there a diagram some where?

Well, I got it back on but the side-opening latches don't work well at all, they appear to jam and prevent the hinge pins from withdrawing fully.

Not a good design, the glove box under the 'phone compartment hold nothing on any significance, why does it need to hing on both sides? Over complex and unnecessary in my opinion.

thats exactly right. MB took a well functioning console box, redesigned it and ****ed it all up. I get on average one a week that comes in with the lid totally off.
