1983 300td

Am about to buy the above; and the front windshield wiper does not work in any sequence.

Troublshooting ideas? Sequence etc? Any typical faults? Any odd, not obvious faults to check?

Also, where can I get a shop manual?

If you hear the motor working but no blade action then check torque on arm fasteners to spindles. It's self-destruct preventive measure where spindles will slip in arm sockets when iced up instaed of breakin the wiper linkage.

I would suspect the combination switch.

I got mine from MBUSA. I think you just need the vin and engine and chassis numbers to get the correct one. They're on CD's.
