driving to work I hit this large ugly crow feasting on a highway roadkill..it was probably too gorged to get up out of the way in time and i was bootin it to work being late and all. It hit the thing WHAM on the hood near the grill. It shot over the car and then promptly crushed into a bone, beak and feather turd under the wheels of a truck behind me...kathump kathump kathump all the way to the next dennys i suppose

naturally it left a very small 'dent' on the car that one can only see by reflection...can these be removed by banging on the ibnside of the hood with a rubber mallet or is the hood raven-scarred for life?

highly suggest using a professional dent removal service- - from personal experience, they really do wonders (straight as an arrow without damaging paint and only takes about an hour for a handful of dents).

I agree with Fad, as a Collision Shop Owner, I would highly recommend you take it to a pro. The "Paintless Dent Removal" system may work great in your case and save $$$. A general rule of thumb - if the dent is larger then your hand, it may require other dent repair techniques and painting. If you try to fix it with a rubber mallet, you may cause more damage.

Was the paint damaged (whirls, etc.)?

My car was punched by a sicko in 2 places, middle of the door and on the fender body line. Paintless dent removal could do the door, but not the one on the crease. So I had both repaired at a body shop -- did a great job.

I was hesitant about p.d.r., since a few people at work said the paint will crack and spider web a few years down the road. When I mentioned it on this forum, I received only positive feedback about p.d.r., so my opinion has changed.

paint undamaged

If the paint was undamaged, paintless dent removal is the way to go. I had two dents (the size of a dime) repaired for $50 each. I coudn't notice the difference.
