E 320 Blower Fan Speed Cuts in & out
 

Hi, newbie to this forum. Vehicle is; E320, 2000, 4 matic sedan, 60,000 mi.
The blower fan speed cuts in and out at speed settings from 1 to 5, it never stops completely but seems to vary in speed by itself both up and down. This happens in manual or auto mode. When set at speed level 6 or 7 (based on the number of LED's lit up) it does not appear to cut in and out in speed levels and stays at the set speed. I have searched this forum for clues to my problem but no luck so far.
I did the climate control test and did not get any errors so far.

Could this be my blower reg on it's way to failing?

The fact that the blower .....
 

will run at a constant speed on the two "high" settings makes me think that it is the controller itself as opposed to the regulator.
