OVP 10amp Fuse keeps blowing '90 300TE

After having my ABS light on and having rough starting for a few days, I found several posts suggesting that the OVP fuse might be blown. SURE ENOUGH it was out. I have had to replace this fuse several times in a week. My question is - Can the OVP relay cause this problem? If not what are some things that I need to look at! Any help would be appreciated as my wife is coming home from vacation and I still don't have the thing FIXED!!

Thanks

Cal

I would check the battery and voltage regulator/alternator. See what kind of output is giving out...

I check the ouput of the battery at idle and I'm getting 13.46v. This looks to be normal. Does that sound about right?

It sounds about right but, you did not mention if the lights were on, AC on, etc. On the other hand, have you done anything to your car recently? i.e. new radio, light bulbs. May be the OVP itself is bad, I know Mercedesshop sells the new updated part.

I think I might have a solution to your problem. Ever since you posted your question... I kept thinking that it was a 15amp fuse. Well I finally checked today and sure enough, I have a 15 amp fuse in my M104 motor in 1995 C280. I cannot be sure what the 300E's have though... but this might be a start?
300E owners... what is the amperage in your fuses?
