What would be the best alarm on the market for a 92-93 500SEL? I am looking at the Clifford Avantguard 4 and the CrimeStopper Informer (LOVE the 2-way pager). How hard should it be to install all the features (including remote start) and integrate the factory alarm (like the flashers on the handles??).

Also, what other alarms would you reccomend? Someone in an old post reccomended VSE (Vehicle Security Electronics), but I cannot find any information on them ANYWHERE. Where can I get some info?? THANKS!!

Does't it have the factory alarm? What else could you want.

What? Are you kidding me? Remote start? Remote window operation? Starter disable? A horn that you can't cut the wires to? I don't know much about the 500SEL alarm, but I know that they are some of the most stolen cars in America! I am going to load mine with thousands of dollars of stereo equipment and I want to make sure that it is safe, no matter what. I would never trust a factory system.

And aftermarket systems are cool. Especially the Clifford Avantguard 4, which you can plug a laptop into and program it right from there with free software.
