1" hose - $450.
MY pop just picked up his 93 300TE Wagon from the indie and is told that there is a 1" hose looks like it is going to burst.
The hose is only a 10 part, but the labor is expensive because they have to remove the water pump. The 1" hose is between block and the pump. Is this a hi figure? Any DIY tips? Thanks, AA |
Could be a bad hose.
But do you think it is bad? That hose often has a slight swelled and fat look to it. With the engine warm, does it feel soft? If it feels stiff and hard, I would let it alone. Do you really trust this Indy? You know they all have a big boat payment to make. They have to come up with that money from somewhere, and worthless as it is, it is still illegal to print it at home.

No offense, but with all those cars in your sig, I would assume you were the DIY type- and one who could accurately describe which hose is in question. Dude, its a coolant hose...

As Felix Unger would say.... " When you assume....you make an ASS out of U and ME." I haven't even seen the car, but will check it. Thanks. ... |
Weezer!
Do you have a problem with reading plain English.

You know what.. it is a PIA job... but just replace the water pump while you are doing the hose..
if you cut off part of the pipe and got the hose to fit... you know what is going to happen.. a bearing or a seal on the water pump will go at the least expected time this summer...and then you will kick yourself water pump is a 5 hour DIY job. i have done it on two...and almost have considered doing it as a preventive measure on the CE which i think has the original water pump |
