420 transmission swap question

I am about to pull the trans out of my 420 and replace it with a rebuilt. Can anyone lead me to a string or web site that give you step by step instructions to refer to if needed....I am an old chevy and GTO shade tree mechanic and have had many trannys out, but not a Benz.....feel free and tell me what I'm getting into as far a degree of difficulty.

Also by doing this myself I stand to save $1000 in labor. The rebuilt is costing me $1500 from a place in SF. CA.

About the only difference between that and a Chevy trans is the fact the driveshaft is bolted to the output. It's all pretty straight forward. Make sure your torque convertor is all the way into the front pump. You might gauge that by the depth into the bellhousing of the one you are taking out.

Turn the motor clockwise on the crankshaft bolt to get to teh torque convertor bolts before loosening the bellhousing. Be sure to disconnect the control pressure cable at the top where it attaches to the throttle linkage.
