S600 problems

So I have a 1995 S600. It has 32,000 miles on it. It runs but has no throttle response at all. If you feather the throttle you can get it going but it does 0-60 in like 40 seconds. It smokes too, only when accelerating. White smoke. When ya get going it doesn't smoke at all. The dealer says it needs new throttle bodies that are eight thousand dollars.........uhm, I don't think so! Any ideas?

You need to get the fault codes from pin 7. If you have not yet built the code reader try a search.
