help abs light is on???

just purchased my first benz a 1989 300e with 75k on it and seems to have good service history and low miles are true....was traded in because of a cold starting problem I bought the car on ebay and am very happy with my purchase have been going over the car...and replaced a fuse behind the battery to fix the cold staring problem and it worked but only to find the abs light is now on??Car drives great but trans will shift hard some times.

Did you ever find out why the OVP fuse blew? Did the ABS light come on right after you replaced the fuse? Have you dis-connected the battery and reconnected it? There are 3 speed sensors for the ABS system, one at each front wheel and one at the final drive. If you have an OHM meter you could test those (I think I remember reading 1500 ohms for the front and 700 at the rear).
I'm also new to MBZ and this forum is GREAT!!! Someone the really knows will probably chime in.

Before you dis-connect your battery !!! Do you have your radio code?? If not you will need to get it from the dealership when you re-connect the battery, bring a title with you.

abs light

yes the light was off before I replaced the one of two fuses behind the batt. Im not sure why the fuse was blown maybe from being jumped before I bought it.

Jumping the battery can blow the OVP fuse.
You replaced a fuse that completed a circuit to the ABS light which turned it on.
Start with the basics....fully charge your battery and see if the ABS light goes out.
Low voltage will illuminate the light and it normally doesn't indicate an ABS malfunction based on your symptoms !!!
