fuel smell inside my 88" 260E

I had it checked already for leaks, but nothing found> The odor will just come out when the car is running for about a 15min drive, then you will still smell gas once you go back inside the car again. I already took the car to 3 separate MB shops already but still they can't solve the problem. Things that been changed are: fuel pumps, fuel filters, fuel injector o-rings, & some hoses. any help will be so much appreciated! Thanks!

did they check the EHA on the fuel distributor? usually they will leak and cause similar odor. the entire unit will usually need to replaced as it leaks internally and the gas comes out of the electrical plug area

Ok, thanks! I'll have it checked. so does it mean that I have to replace the EHA valve only? What does the EHA stands for, and what's it's purpose? Thanks! Anymore inputs?:)

E electro H Hydraulic A actuator, it is the electrical portion of the fuel system that in conjunction with the oxygen sensor controls fuel trim, if it is leaking you will need to replace the unit and o-rings, if you buy new the unit will include o-rings

Yes, please do it ASAP, unless you like playing with fire extinguishers!:ukliam3:

Check that your fuel cap is sealing correctly.

EhA, gas caps, are good, recently my mechanic did something on the vaccum of the intake, and told me to investigate if the smell would return, his last call would be the vent in the dash if it'd not properly blocked ad he told me. Anymore inputs? Thanks!
