expansion valve
I need to relace the expansion valve on a 89 560sel. Is it ok to assume a new one is still calibrated to flow R12 as opposed to R134a? The one in the car is leaking at what seems to be the cap covering the adjustment screw. The valve pictured in Fastlane parts has the MB star on it. That will be the one I order to use with R12. Any thoughts greatly aprreciated.

As the pressures are almost identical with R134 and R12 should be no problem..

yes the 134a valve is a direct replacement for the r12 any can be used with no perceptable diff.

Both David and Platt are very right about this. Upon removal of the valve I found r134a stamped on the old valve. Thanks for your help. Topgun
