w126 fuse box removal

I'm planning on replacing some rusted out sheet metal under the fuse box on my '89 300se.
It seems all wiring under the dash would have to be disconnected first, to remove the electrical box out of the way.
Can anyone offer advice, possibly copy the relevant part of the shop manual?.
Please, no "just buy another car" advice!.
Will post pictures in restoration section when done.
Thanks,
Andy
