Buzzing Turn Signal W126 500Se (82)

W126 1982 500SE (euro)
Activation of turn signal causes a buzzing behind cluster - Signal light remains (solid) illuminated. I replaced the sometimes troublesome hazzard switch from a known good 126 - notta

Anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be?

Thanks John in Mississippi

Yep. Its the flasher relay, located...you guessed it- behind the instrument cluster.

Guess I will have to go back in and take a look. Thinking I had eliminated that earlier.... Oh the love of the 126's

I agree. On the older switches, which combine the relay & switch in one unit, you can cause this buzzing by not pushing in the switch completely. So if you don't have access to a new part, I would try cleaning the inside of both parts, in your case, as it is a matter of bad contacts.
