Coupla 300te questions

1989 300te.
1.The oil light now goes on every so often...stays on, then, when it wants to, goes off. At rest, the car has enough oil. Can this be a filter issue? It needs to be changed. If not...then what?

2. My steering is getting heavy. Tire pressure checked...OK. I don't know why, but I am thinking steering pump, because it feels as if I am losing 'power steering'. There is fluid in the system...checked. How would I diagnose this?

What is this? What does it do? Where do I put it?

HUH ??

Well, as it says in the item discription, it is a P/S Filter .... so..I guess it filters the P/S fluid... and it goes in the P/S reservoir ..and if it is clogged, it may effect your Power Steering.
I would also check the belt tension..that would be the belt that drives the power steering pump.
