W201 front lower control arm bushing question

I replaced the front lower control arm bushings on my '91 190E 2.6. On each arm, one bushing was rubber while the other was metal and rubber. The replacements are all rubber. Of the sets I got, all the replacement bushings look identical except 3 have 2 "nubs" and 1 has 3 "nubs". The three with 2 nubs are marked 124 333 4214. The one with 3 nubs is marked 124 33 4314. Does it matter?

Yes, and the position that they mount is also critical.

Those replacement bushings are from a 300E.

The bushings with 124-333-43-14 are installed in the front & need to have the "FLAT" portion of the bushing installed so that they are perpendicular to the DRIVING surface (road).

The other bushing 124-333-42-14 go in the rear area & the flats need to be installed so that they are parallel to the ROAD.

Now I'm confused. The Haynes manual says on the front bushings the flats need to be facing up.
BTW, other than the "nubs", all 8 bushing halfs appear to be identical.

Doc,

Thanks for clarifying. I have these bushing sitting on my shelf awaiting installation.

Is there any difference between these (124) and those for the 201? I was told they are interchangeable on some models.

Thanks again.

This section of the Haynes manual directly contradicts MBDOC :(
Who to believe? I need to know.

Fronts

7a Install torsion rubber mounts in such a manner
that the flats (arrows) are horizontally resting
against front mount.

7b On model 201.034 install rubber mounts at the
rear in such a manner that the flats (arrows) are
vertical.

Rears

6 Insert rubber mount into wishbone.
Note: The two surfaces of the aluminum core
(arrows) must be vertically located with wishbone
installed.

I guess I will have to carefully note how the old ones come out and make sure the new ones are installed in a similar manner.
