My passenger side power mirror is in pretty bad shape (scratched/fogged). I have a nearly perfect mirror from a later w126. Is there anyway to adapt the 5 contact plug on later mirror to work with the 4 prong plugin on the car?

I believe the difference is the heater for the later models.

Get a 5 contact plug and match up the wires less heater.

I have a 5 connector plug, so I'm going to give this a try. I looked at the wiring diagram and it looks like the wire colors are different between the early and later mirrors. Does anyone know what colors on the wiring from the switch would need to match up with what colors on the wiring to the plug?
