Speedo stuck!!
 

Hello all

I had a wierd thing happen to me last Saturday when i resetted the oddometer.The speedo records the speed but the odddo and the mileage numbers are stuck and do not move.I tried to reset but no luck in getting it to release from its jammed/stuck position.
Anybody have any other tricks???

The plastic gear in your speedometer that drives the odometer has become lose and slipping. Best thing is get the dealer to get you a remanufactured unit. You can dissassemble it to the point of gluing the gear back in place but I wouldn't do it and I'm not even sure it's legal to do it.

it is possible you broke the plastic gear. how did you reset
it. i hope you did it with your car is not in motion. i've read
it somewhere that you will break those gear by doing that.

Thanks for the reply and yes i resetted it with the car in motion.It did happen once before but i could get it working again but no such luck this time.Any other suggestions???
