Hi all,
I'm assuming my Father-in-laws '88 420SEL (110k miles) was needing a universal joint due to solid scary thumping into gear from neutral or reverse to drive and vise versa.
She shifts fine but this anomaly seems to occur only after it has warmed up which would eliminate my theory of a universal joint.
Any folks out there have this happen in the past that can offer some advice?
I haven't poured over the car yet as life has me pretty busy, not that I'm an expert with these.
We'll talk about the mediocre A/C at another juncture...
