94 E420 No start, pretty urgent,

Hi guys, been loving my E420, but today while driving at low speed all my dash gauges went dead, I turned the car off and tried to restart but it wouldnt turn over at all, Battery has good voltage. I tried disconnecting the battery, nothing.

I tried resetting the codes, but still no start no cranking. no evidence of life on the dash gauges, (fuel, temp, oil all at zero).

Any thoughts, thanks for the help.

Looks like a dead voltage regulator to me.
Could also be a faulty ignition switch (doubtful) or a broken wire to the starter
Good luck

Hmmm, Voltage regulator, do you mean OVP? I dont think its a bad wire to the starter, that wouldnt explain the dead gauges, the car was still running when i turned it off, when i tried to restart, it wouldnt do anything. Battery has good voltage.

This just happened to another member a week or two ago.

Check the fuses up close and personal - There is a very good chance one of them has a hairline crack.

If you follow this link http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/tech-help/219588-95-e420-wont-crank.html#post1825798 you will see to check fuse #5 closely.

Checked and Changed fuse #5, no start, no crank.

Anything else could cause the identical symptoms?

Do you have headlamps?????????????

Problem solved, changed the multifunction flasher relay, the gauges came back and car started right up.

Hope this thread helps someone else if the fuse idea doesnt work right away.

Thanks for everyone who responded.
