Mirror switch

I just bought a 1997 E300 diesel. The switch that controls the mirror on the console is not working. Can someone help me with how to remove this switch and replace it? Thanks.

The mirror will move to the left but not to the right or up and down so I'm pretty sure the motor is okay.

Try some electrical contact cleaner (spray) and see if that helps first.

Check to see if the mirror can move up and down when using the seat memory buttons on the driver's door. Hopefully there is a pair of buttons with different mirror heights.

Unfortunately, the mirrors do not move with different seat position setting. I learned today that you can't replace just the mirror switch but that you have to replace all the window switches as well. Anyone know how to get acces to the switches so I can try to clean them? Thanks.

Use your fingernails and pull up the trim around the gear lever.

Then pull up the wood around the gear lever

Then pull off the rest of the wood.
