Service B Reset

Can anyone advise me how to reset the Service B exceeded warning light on my 2000 E430 4-matic?

MTI 05-02-2008 09:10 PM

It's a nice reminder . . . but if you want:

Turn the key to position 2.

Within 4 seconds press the odometer reset button "0" twice.

The FSS status is shown on the display. Within 10 seconds turn the key back to position 0.

Press and hold down the odometer reset button. Turn the key to position 2 again. The FSS status is shown again, but continue to hold down the odometer reset button.

After a few seconds an audible signal beeps and the FSS display changes and then you can release the odometer reset button.

And remember to shut the drivers side door too.

Thanks. Assume it's marked "R" not "0". Thanks for your help, but for some reason, I'll still can't get it to work. Oh well!

TMAllison 05-03-2008 11:49 AM

OK, now I am really confused. What do you mean by "other" left..... ? Sorry for my ignorance.

Johnhef 05-03-2008 06:50 PM

"R" is not the reset button.

Can anybody clarify? PLease help. Where is the reset button if it is not the "R" for the odometer button? I'm about to give up and live with it.

TMAllison 05-03-2008 10:33 PM

Try this. Shut drivers door.

1) Turn key to position 2.

2) Within 4 seconds press dash button "0" twice.

3) Within 10 seconds turn the key back to position zero.

4) Press and hold button "0".

5) Turn key to position 2 and continue holding button "0" until you hear a beep ~ 10 secs later.

Sometimes it takes a try to two for it to take.

Thanks TMALLISON but I do not see an "O" button on my 2000 E430 4Matic. Only an "R". Again, can anybody clarify?

Johnhef 05-04-2008 09:29 AM

Thanks for the reply. So IT IS the "R" button. I'll try it again.
