1999 E320 4Matic Wagon - Does it have side curtain airbags?
 

I've read a few sites online that mentioned all 1999 E classes have side curtain airbags. But some sites stated that the side curtain airbags are not available until model year 2000. Can anyone please confirm whether a 1999 E320 4Matic Wagon has side curtain airbags?

Can't really answer that one, although a 99 ML320 I used to own had door panel airbags, but not side curtain ones...

1999 included side curtains for US issued.

Thanks. I've taken a few VINs of 1999 E320s from ebay listings and tried them on the site you suggested - but the site didn't list any information on airbags - didn't even mention front and side airbags.

Are there any other way to confirm the presence of side curtain airbags in 1999 E classes?

its option 290. If not present it doesnt have it.

I've tried inputting a VIN for an 2002 E320 which definitely has side curtain airbags - but option 290 doesn't show up on that site. I guess that site doesn't show everything?

I own a 1998 E300 Turbodiesel sedan, 1999 E320 4Matic wagon, and 2001 E320 sedan...the 1998 sedan and 1999 wagon have four airbags (dual front airbags and front side airbags). I am aware that 1999 sedans (not wagons) have six airbags (dual front airbags, front side airbags, and side curtain airbags). The 2000+ sedans and wagons have eight airbags (dual front airbags, front and rear side airbags, and side curtain airbags). This information is true for all North American models.
