1985 190e 2.3 ignition switch problem
 

Ignition switch seems to have gone bad, key turns fine, but when place in the full start position it doesn't spring back and there is no power being supplied in any position. I've taken off the kick plate and can grab onto the wiring plug, but it won't come loose. I've tried putting the key in position 1 or I think I did with no luck. Would appreciate any help or advice in fixing this.
