88 420 SEL Where Is Cabin Temp Sensor
The temp seems to be off by quite a bit, and I think the interior sensor is dirty. Where is the sensor? Is it the "grill" next to the sunroof switch ? How do you clean it ?
Thanks Go Sox |

For cleaning, a good blast of air usually works. I use the shop air compressor. But you may have one of those cans of air you use to blow the dust out of your computor keyboard. |

I take it that my assumption was correct and it is behind the little plastic grill next to the sunroof switch above the mirror.
Thanks I will give it a try tomorrow |

You may want to test the function of the aspirator too. After you clean the sensor, and with the car running, take a small piece of paper just big enough to cover the opening of the sensor. If the aspirator is functioning properly, the air flow will hold the paper in place. If the paper falls you have an ill aspirator. The location of the aspirator varies with the chassis model. But in most cases it is located just behind the glovebox liner. I have seen one mounted on the passenger knee bolster too. The aspirator, if not burned out, will have dust build up inside. A few taps may solve the "slow" air flow if that be the case. |
