I'd appreciate some opinions.

I'm finally getting ready to sell my 300SE and can't decide if it's worth it to replace the ball joints beforehand. The lower balls on both sides are completely shot and they are screaming! As I am, I always just shot them up with grease to quiet them down from week to week. I can buy the parts for 40 bucks, I'm just not sure how much a shop would want for this job. I would assume I could trust the local alignment guy with this job right?

Is it worth it to swap the ball joints before I sell her?

I like to have my cars in no apology condition usually when I sell so I can ask top dollar for them with no regrets for me or the buyer.

If the ball joints are tight they are safe, but the boots must be shot and that will be easy to see. then folks may imagine more expense than it really will be to repair.
