HOW DO I?? Reset the check engine light

I have a '93 300 CE cabriolet (known as an A124). The check engine light has been lit for quite a while and my indie diagnosed it as an Air Mass Sensor that needed replacing. Being rather expensive, I waited.

I just replaced it, thanks to my uncle in Washington DC who sent an Economic Stimulus check. The car idles smoothly again but now I'd like to reset the Check Engine light so I don't have to see it anymore (I am so NOT going to miss looking at that light). Problem is, I don't know how to reset it.

Would any of you kind members of the collective brain bank help a friend? Thanks in advance.

There is a 16 pin diagnostic connector box in front of the battery..
Open the lid and you will see a button and a Led ...push the button with key ON and hold it for 2-3 secs..when you release it, a code will flash back..keep doing that until there are no more codes. [ until the first one repeats]
After each code , wait 2 secs and hold button for 8-9 secs for each code..that will erase that code ..do them all and then turn key Off for 10 secs , On for 10 and then start,,that will put the CE out.
Write down each code and post them here, just for kicks.

After you do that . I will tell you how to get the Memory back to mean base line so your new MAF doses not have to readapt...

SWEET!! Next step please

Arthur,
Thanks a lot for the very clear instruction. I did exactly what you said.
The codes that read out were 5, 10 and 19. What do those mean?

Now, how does "the memory get reset back to baseline so the new MAF does not have to readapt..."??

Eagerly awaiting the next move. THANKS AGAIN.
