A/C oil capacity 95 e320

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knows the recommendend amount of oil to be out in a A/c system of the E320 59 model.

Most use around 5 ounces but It would be good to have it varified.

The car just seemed to lose air pump function as well, has anyone experienced an air pump failure, The car won't run and there weas a bit of a burning smell.

Thx in advance,

That system uses a total of 8 oz. PAG-46 and 33.5 oz. of R134a.

Thanks for the info,

Wow, a lot of oil, I did a 525 I in the recent past and it took 4 pounds of 134. Interesting how different these are.

Thanks

I just checked alldata and they say that the oil capacity is 120cc (4 oz) but they also say that it takes 2.43 pounds of R12. The 1995 definitely uses 134a and the proper amount is 2.1 pounds according to the decal on my car.

Does anyone know for sure what is correct? I recently replaced my evaporator and drier and added 2 oz of oil. I used PAG 100 because it was the medium viscosity and I was unable to determine for sure what it should be.

The info I posted for the 95 E320 is correct, it comes from an A/C capacity guide and is based upon a dry system. The fact that alldata tells you it takes R12 should be a clue that their info is wrong (it does happen). By the way, 33.5 oz is equal to the 2.1 pounds you stated.
