Troubleshooting your SLS

Is there a good procedure to follow for troubleshooting a leaking SLS? The one on my 560SEC is leaking and the rear end of the car seems to be a little bit lower than it should be, but otherwise seems to be okay.

I don't have any way to get under it right now, but was wondering where to start to try and diagnose the problem.

Step one is usually to see if anything under the hood (pump, hoses & tank) is leaking.
Step two is usually raise the car...:(

There is fluid on the shocks in the back, which caused the car to not pass inspection. I'm not really aware of it functioning improperly, though. I guess I'm going to have to find some means of getting under it, though.

disconnect the link and move the lever on the valve (with it running) and see if the rear end raises and lowers. always move the lever back to center when youre done.

Lever? What lever? Is there a diagram of the system that has the parts labeled? I don't have a service manual or anything for the SEC.
