Dead Sunvisor
The right sunvisor on my W123 just died yesterday. I was adjusting it when it seemed to come lose from its spring tension and is now just hanging there flopping in the breeze. Does anyone know if this is repairable?

Is it the visor or the clip attached overhead that is broken?
Dealer still has the visor clips available. I bought a pair for my W124, and even solved the vanity light issues. |
It is not the clip. It is the visor, now with no spring tension about its axis.

DEAD SURVIVOR? SAY WHAT? LOL!!! This is what I read first.
Glad it is only a dead Sun Visor Are you talking about the clips near the interior light or the end that extends through the sun visor mounting plates near the door frames? The older sun visors had a spring and a clip holding them onto the visor mounting plate. The newer ones just stick through the plastic mtg plate and are held by friction. (GenII maybe???) |

Your nearest one is 3927 Clark Drive in Stockton. It's a little bit of a drive. But,hey, just think what else you might find for your car. You can buy another visor or just the rod part that secures the visor to your headliner. I have found visors where someone has removed the rod with the spring thingy attached to it. I have not tried to remove the rod myself, I think it slips out of the visor. But I would "practice on one first. If the drive does not appeal to you let me know what color you need and I will see what I can do. PM me if you have any questions. Dan |
