Please post any suggestions in changing the gasket. How hard is it to DIY job? Do i have to lift the engine up or is it simple task? Many thanks for helping out this topic.

I did my 1998 CL600 a couple of weeks ago. Not a difficult job. You don't need to lift the engine. You are going to need a female torx socket for the bolts that hold the air pipe that runs under the pan (you don't need to move the pipe). Be sure you have the right sockets before you begin. You'll also need a 1/4" or 3/8" torque wrench (bolts should be 10Nm). I recommend you use an OEM gasket (from the dealer). Their not expensive. If the pan is bent get a new one. You might want to replace the oil pump pickup screen while you have the pan off. This will also be a good time to check the pan for plastic debris from the timing chain guides.
