e420 drivabilty problems!!!
I just had my 94 e420 (Great Car!) in for the 90000mi maint. no real problems found but I have recently had a couple of instances of the car stalling, or idle speed dropping. It has happened just a few times. I have seen it once and my wife a few times. Never a check engine light, but do have an abs light from time to time. From reading DYI article on evaluating the electronic engine controls it seems that I may have the same problem discussed Ie a bad over-voltage protection relay. Can someone tell me how to find this relay on my car? Is it a dealer item? Price? Would it be worth a try in my case?
Thanks, Chad |

Here are a couple of suggestions. Search on throttle body cleaning. It has been suggested that cleaning that will solve low and erratic idle on 119 motors. (It helped mine). Also, the engine wiring harness is known to fail on these cars. Mercedes will replace it under good will if under 100,000 or 120,000 miles. I can't remember which.
