Technical Data Manual; The TDM

I just asked Phil if the parts shop sells the Technical Data Manuals. He's gonna look into it.

I consider these little books to be the best value around. They're dirt cheap and worth having. They are still in print for 1957, 60, 63, 66, 69, 71 and 72 through 86.

Anybody out there disagree, or think that it's not worth the PartShop's time and energy to stock these?

Who wants to be the first person to place an order?

-CTH

PS. This is one of those things you don't buy on ebay. I've seen people pay way over retail for them.

I refer to mine quite often. There are some tidbits in there which are not found in the shop manuals.

yes what exactly is in the TDM?

Tech specs? HP Figures? that kind of stuff or other stuff.

I'd love to add to the poll, but I would have to know what it is first.

the pages I find useful in my 1966 TDM

I just grabbed this one at random off the stack of 9 I always keep by the computer (just in case you wonder why I've been able to do 500+ posts since December).

- All the cars in production from 1961 until Dec 66 (17 models).
- 5 page table of all models vs engine & chassis numbers.
- 4 page table of HP, displacement and other engine details.
- vehicle weights, dimensions and max speed.

OK, that's the first 33 pages. The other 418 pages cover all the numbers your machinist needs for clearances. A cross-reference of differential ratios to cars. all the drive shaft part numbers, the list keeps going and going.

I have asked several questions, and when CTH has provided the answer, the first line usually reads ..."on page XXX of the TDM", then the rest is a detailed explanation. I think I could save him a bunch of typing by getting one.
