Greasy gunk on ML window when rolled down and raised up!

Apparently after an A/B servicing on my 99 ML320, the tech must have OVER-lubed the window track on the driver's side. Now, months later when I raise the window from the lowered position, I get a big smeared mess of lube as the window travels upward. It used to be a thin line of gunk, but now it has increased in area! I have to get out the lighter fluid (or WD-40, or whatever else I have) to get the crap off the window.

Is there any good way of getting this solved without having to remove the door panel? Otherwise, I will have to reread the "ML door panel removal" thread...

There may be a buffer inside the door that has come loose. I see this from time to time where comes loose and rolls over. When the glass is raised or lowered, it hits the glue side.

SOUND MATERIAL COMING APART

G BENZ ITS NOTHING THE TECH DID. IT IS THE SOUND PROOFING MATERIAL THAT SOUND PROOFS THE DOOR SKIN. IT STARTS TO COME APART AFTER A WHILE. BRING IT IN TO YOUR LOCAL DEALER HAVE THEM INSTALL A NEW SOUND STRIP THATS ALL.

YES G BENZ IT IS UNDER WARRANTY .

ML goes to the dealer tomorrow...service tech also believes it's the soundproofing material that has separated from the door skin...

...that should put the ML back to 100%. Now to order those fog lights...
