How to use MB Radiator Flush Powder

I read in a thread recently that the Merceds-Benz radiator flushing chemicals were considered particularly effective, so I bought some today while at the dealer. My 1982 240D coolant mixture is looking like it carrying some extra stuff in there and the average temperature is about 5 to 10 degrees Celsius hotter than it used to be. Used to be the needle seemed to hit an ivisible peg at around 82 degrees C. Anyway, I thought I pick some stuff up and try it. It is a little bottle of powder, and it comes with no instructions. Has anyone out there used this stuff and have some experience to share? do you just add it to the coolant, or do you drain the coolant, flush with tap water and then fill it with this stuff and run the engine for a while? How long? Thanks for the help, Jim

Try the following for information about the MB citric acid flush:

Once there, enter the word CITRIC in the SEARCH field.

In the FORMAT field, select SHORT.
