The fuel pressure regulator on this car is under the air filter, there are 2 metal & 1 rubber fuel lines connected to it. Also what appears to be vacuum line as well. Round gold metal can just in front of air intake.

What you need more than location is what to look for. If you have a hot starting problem then I presume you would be looking for a loss of fuel pressure causing fuel boiling and a vapor lock condition.

It is very unlikely that the fuel pressure regulator will cause such a problem. If on the other hand the cause is unregulated dead head pressures, much greater than normal systems pressure, then a stuck pressure regulator is often the cause. This situation is not likely your problem though. What you will need is a pressure guage, system pressure specs, and a strategy for testing. I insert the gauge into the fuel distributor feed to watch for both conditions. An appropriate three way break out fitting facilitates the hook up.
