1990 300SE Fuel issue

Hello, I have a 1990 300SE which we have replaced a fuel pump for. Now the fuel is pumping through one of the cylinders at such a high rate that its actually comming out the tail pipe.
The mechanic that is helping me with it states he belives I need a fuel box. What is a fuel box? Is that the actual term of the part I need? Does this sound as though it may fix the problem with the fuel dumping through one of the cylinders?
thanks for your help!
