Rear Breakes
I am replacing the rear brake pads on E Class ('99). The worn pads are secured in place with ONE pin (about dia 1/8" and 2-3 in long). Question I have is how do you remove the pin? Should I hammer it out or do I need a special tool for this job?
Thank you for your help. PAT, E 300 '99, 54k |

You should be able to drive it out. You will need a hard pin a little smaller diameter than the one you are driving out. Also, look real close. The pin you are trying to remove probably comes out only one way.

I drove mine out using a nail.
