engine type on E500 from 2008
 
I would like to know what engine type is mounted on the new E500 (8cylinders) gasoline.

M273 engine.

MB started using them in 2005.

You mean E550 right? Or are they reinstating the 5.0 again?

He's in France. They call it an E500 there. Same motor, according to the specs on MB France's webpage, although they rate the motor at 388 hp instead of the 382hp that MB Canada rates it at.

does this engine have an EGR valve, or is it to be found only on diesels ones?
