1992 190e trans shifts hard
 

Can anyone tell me what to do. The car shifts so hard into second. almost cherps. 2-3 is the same 4 also hard what do i need to do to check without paying $5,000,000 for a mechanic to look.

You need to check the modulating pressure. Unfortunately you would probably have to take it to a mechanic. It could also very well be low on fluid. That could cause this issue as well.
Depending on the transmission, the modulator pressure can range from
41 to 57 PSI

Check the vacuum line to the modulator on the drivers side of the transmission. Also, check that the modulator will hold vacuum. The rubber hoses are prone to cracking at the modulator.
