ACC Repar Possible
found the source of a/c cutting-out to be the pushbutton switches. (if i hit the buttons one after the other, a/c compressor will not come on again, until i restart the engine.)
my question, is there a fix to this? i've read re-soldering some loose ends, but am warned about short circuits of other parts. has anyone tried this? |
You didn't mention what year and model you are inquiring about.

89 300E!

Check your belt tention. The compressor has a speed or rpm sensor on the back of it and if the compressor rpm differs more than 30% of the engine rpm it will disengage and the only way it will come back on is to reset or restart the engine.

Yep, I bet it's a slipping belt. Some other things besides tension to see about; make sure there is no liquid of any kind spilled on the belt, if the belly pan is gone replace it after you clean, tension or replace the belt.
Good luck, |
thanks stan and larry, i will recheck belt tension.
