Fluid Capacities & Types needed for 300E

Putting new oil pan on my project 300E tonight and will refill oil, trans and radiator. I need types and capacities for each (bought pink mbz antifreeze and I believe it is 1.75 gallons total 50/50 mix). Also is 85w/90 proper weight for differential?

All help appreciated as I do not have owners manual.

Do a search if in doubt. I would suggest going with a 40% coolant/60% water mix. Use a clear gallon jug - fill about 40% with coolant/60% with water and pour into radiator. Continue to do this until the cooling system is full. The 85/90 sounds fine for the diff - make sure it is gear lubricant.

do you have the owners manual?

It should have a bit of that info for you in there.

CarolinaMBZ:

You really need to invest in a manual to keep your project going smoothly. Get the right numbers for your car. My 1990 300E 2.6 takes 6.9 Qts of oil, but my 1994 E320 takes 7.9! They're all different, so I would not ask for others to looks these numbers up for you. You'll be much better off to get your own manual for a reliable source of info.

Thanks.

I have Haynes and Technibooks but I didn't see fluid type/capacity info. I have an extra 1991 W124 owners manual somewhere in a box but haven't found it yet. I assume all SOHC 3.0L would be the same on these items. Other than this info, I know the remaining contents of manual from prior W124s and only needed info for initial fills. Although car is ready for fluids and test run, I will probably not attempt till this weekend.

Thanks again.
