rear diffs

Can I interchange the 3.27 rear from my 190e-16v with one from any other car (300e)? Or anywhere else to go to find one? In particular I'm looking for taller gearing, like a 3.07....

Yes, the 190E 16V uses the same basic case as the early 300E's. You would loose the limited slip! Also the stub axles & rear cover would have to be swapped.

M.B.Doc , what are you using gear-wise for your SCCA cossy? Probably the same rear unless its a high speed track huh? Have you ever had your car at Pocono Raceway, if so how was she on the infield? I get invited annually there by the Ferrari and Pantera clubs (a friend of mine races a Pantera GTS), and I was considering bringing out the baby benz...

I have three different ratios that I use at different tracks! I have a 3.67/1 limited slip that I use at Daytona & Charlotte. A 3.92 welded diff that I use at Road ATL. & Robeling Road (savannah), & a 4.08/1 that I have used for autocross & at Carolina Motor Park in So. Carolina. Haven't been NORTH yet.

WoW, those are pretty short gears!! Keepin it up high in the powerband, nice. Well, within the next two years I will go back to the track scene myself, grab a regional license and step out of club. Thanks for the info M.B.Doc, I think I might go with the 3.07 setup for the matter of considerable highway driving.
