Engine Temp High

In Stop and go traffic or when climbing hills or mountains, my 560 SEC (1986) engine temp rises to about +100C. Intermitantly my air conditioning cuts off when my engine temp gets high. Is this engine temp normal? and ideas why my air cuts off intermitently?

Phil

If it is getting hot in traffic, then the problem is probably related to airflow. Make the fan clutch and aux fans are working properly.
