1989 300E signal light problems
My 1989 300E has a problem with its' signal and hazard lights. When I put them on the lights do not flash they just stay on until I turn them off. I think this could be a relay problem. If this is a relay problem where is it located and how do I repair it, if it is not what could it be?
thanks, Fab |

Not sure if it's a separate part back in '89, but on the '93, it's called a combination relay...a fairly large relay as it encompasses the hazards, turn signals, and intermittent wiper operation. More expensive than an ordinary flasher as a result.
Should be located near the fuse panel in the engine compartment.

Turn Signals
G-Benz is correct!
My 1989 300E had the same problem! Replaced the combination relay located behind the fuse block under the hood just last week. It is the retangular looking one in the front middle of the relay box. Ordered my new relay from Autohauz.com for about $59! Look under electrical misc on their website. I took my old one out and shook it. Something was loose inside! Turned out to be the contact for the signal relay inside broke off! Good luck! |
