Check:
1) Idler arm. Even a slight amount of play here can cause big problems 2) Steering dampener (if the car has one) Does the problem sometimes get bad all of a sudden when you hit a bump at speed? If so, see above. 3) Less likely, but possible: Warped brake rotor and a caliper that doesn't release all the way. Good Luck! |

I had a problem with an explorer several years ago and after going thru 3 sets of tires and four alignment we found that it was a bad engine mount. Don't ask me to explain it but it worked

sounds like a brake rotor as suggested earlier...or even a loose pad spring...this can cause the pad to come loose at speeds and create drag and vibration....chased a similar problem in and out of shops for 2 years on a 190E...also watch your piston alignment in the callipers..they have a small step, and must be mounted at the correct position...they can be mounted crooked ..at least in my 2.6 and other 190's this was true..this will cause an uneven wear on the brake shoe and can also lead to minute brake drag..and subsequent vibration/drag
