1993 300e Intermittent start issues

I have a 1993 300e that starts when it want to. The fuel pump is good as is the relay. The ecu intermittently sends signal to energize the relay. once the ecu has sent the signal it keeps the car running until shut off. I am thinking switch. The crank trigger would fail when hot or at all times. PLus I don't get that normal first burst of fuel when ignition is on when the pump signal is not sent on crank. Any help would be appreciated.

Dustin

93 MB 300E cranks but won't start

Hi,
I am also having problems with my 93 300e, I left the car with wife and she went a couple places and told me first it took her 10 min to start, then that evening I had to go get her, car start after that day one time I took to fuel station and after fueling it did not start again, one day later, I went there it start again took it to our place and did not start again, I read the forum and so far I change fuel pump relay, and tonight crank position sensor and still cranks but not starts, I ordered cam position sensor, and read here about OVP relay. I will buy that too but I really need a code reader for this car, that 16 pin one, I also bought cd's they show the terminal but not tell any thing about how to read the codes with it, any bodies help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Check the fuse on top of the OVP relay.

good idea. Fuse is in good shape on the OVP relay, mine is made in hungary, as K-1, K-2, K-3 schematic shows 3 diffarent relay function on it, 59 7238 000 is the number written on it, I try to brake it open but so far unsuccesfull, tomorrow cam shaft position sensor comes, next buy will be this OVP relay, then ... I dunno???

iI tried the circuit above and it works on my 1993 300E... gives me the flashes to determine the fault codes, the only thing mine cant seem to do is reset the codes on terminal 8... it does the other terminals without problems just not that one... probably because of the 680 ohm current limiting resistor and 2 diodes in series since my diodes were 1.8 volt diodes and radio shack doesnt specify what their diode voltage drops are.... figured better be safe than sorry....it reads all the codes from the terminals that are wired to the 16 pin connector... really... crap i cant remember http://www.bcae1.com/led.htm look inside and compare to the illustrations on the link... simple , trickiest part is making sure you have the diodes in the right orientation as they permit current to flow one way...if it doesnt work turn them the other way...the flat side goes to the side of lower voltage potential i think ... could you do me a favor and share the workshop manual for the 93 300E.. i don't want to buy another one because i cannot find mine and you know the moment i buy one the first will show up... mark.pasieka@gmail.com i would really appreciate it..
I also have a 93 300E but the wont start problem was something I had when it was 3 days old sometime in 93 and after the first 3 months of being at the dealership under warranty they took care of it... now there a modulating idle im dealing with....

im a little worried about the part numbers everyone is showing for the OVP control, mine doesn't match up... are the pics of the actual units or just website posts?
