Bosch air flow Potentiometer

With so many post from people that need this pot, has anyone found a source for Bosch p/n 3 437 224 035 pot used on the KE injection system?

Has anyone found a repair or good alternate part?

Thanks for response
Curtis

Keep searching. I was able to find the part through Euro Parts Direct, but their site is showing that it's out of stock. You might want to give them a call. I was successfully able to get the part and install a few years ago and will dig through receipts this evening to see if I got the part from this site or a different company.

A few years ago is very different than today. I don't believe there is any new stock out there. I do recall that someone from Sweden or Denmark or someplace was trying to develop a Chinese supplier but I'm not sure if it ever happened.

Yes, a few years ago is different from today; but, I would urge to keep searching... I was told that it was impossible to find a vendor willing to sell the potentiometer separately from the entire air flow sensor a few years ago. I remained diligent in my search and I was able to find a supplier.

I just called a local supplier that I order parts from and was told that the potentiometer is a part of the MAF sensor and that one can not order it separately from the entire unit. Wrong.

Keep in mind that the part number you listed is a Bosch part number... when you perform your search make sure you let the person know that the part number is Bosch, not Mercedes.

Wrong a few years ago, but not wrong presently. Bosch was the only supplier of the part and they pulled it off the market as a separate part.

You beat me to the punch... I was getting ready to tell you that you were right... spent the last few hours online and on the phone. Some say that it's a part still available directly from Bosch whereas the majority have said that it's a discontinued part.

I was after the potentiometer last year and phoned Bosch directly, they told me that it is no longer sold as a separate part. Although the part ended up not being the solution to my issue, I found a good used one from a breaker. He let me take the potentiometer off of the airflow sensor to inspect the tracks, you want one with a clean & unworn track (it looks like photographic film).

I have run into the same problems that everyone is posting. I did run across a Chinese manufacturing web sit that claimed to be a source for the part, but orders of several hundred parts were required. Could not fine a retail outlet for this guy.

The carbon is not worn thru on my unit, but the readings are erratic. Book says that the ohm reading should be continuously increasing to the half way point and then start to decrease. The actual reading starts at 1.30K then increase to 1.50k, 1.80K, 2.00K, then decrease to 1.60K and then jump to 3.00K. This type of erratic reading go all the way up the scale to the half way point where the start to decrease per the spec. Is this erratic reading normal? Or should it be the reading be one smooth contentious increase? If I set the meter to A higher scale it does read correctly 1K,2K,3K,4,K,5K,6K. Am I making my own problem?

Thanks for the response

The original symptoms were: when engine reached operating temp it had no power and a drop in vacuumat idle. Engine will not exceed 2K rpm.
I had the intake manifold off replacing all the seals. Thought I would test several electrical items before putting it all back together. I don’t know if this potentiometer problem would cause the original symptom or not. Thought I would replace it, but cannot find a replacement part and am to too sure that it is causing any problem. It doesn’t pass the test as I understand it.
