overheating bad!!! urgent
 

Hi all I have a 1989 190E it is overheating bad. I have flushed the radiator twice now, replace the thermostat and still overheats, any ideas would be very very helpful, trying to bleed the system of air but does not seem to do anygood can someone explain how to do this properly? help would be very very appriciated thanks, no oil in radiator fluid or water in oil, I am running out of ideas, ohhh and the water pump was recently replaced too.

okay so searching the forums and found out the there may be air in the system but am confused as to how to get it out. I get the car up to operating temp and then hold the upper radiator hose? and then open the bleeder on top of the thermostat housing? is this right?

Several times I have changed my coolant, replaced head gasket once, replaced water pump once, and replaced radiator,and I have never had problem with air in the system. I top off the radiator, start the engine with heat on high, and add coolant to the system as the coolant drops in the reservoir tank.

The only time I had an overheat situation was when the aux. fans or the main fan wasn't turning on due to defective temp. sensors.

check your temperature sensors. Check your water pump, it may be defective and you may have a clogged cooling system.

Pressure test the system...may be a popped head gasket.

190's typically aren't that difficult to 'burp'... It also helps to have the front end of the car up...:)

This never happened on my Mercedes but when I had that problem on my old van it was a clogged up radiator. I am not sure how to test for that. A radiator shop could probably test it for you I imagine.
