My rear end has a leak.
I have a 76 450 sl that has developed a very bad leak. Both axels and the drive seals have gone bad and throwing oil every where.
My question is how hard is it to fix this problem myself. I know my way around a tool box but I do not know if I need special tools to do this chore. If I took it to a dealer what could I expect to pay? |
I have a similar problem from time to time. Are you over 50 ?

Well I called my local dealer today and they informed me that it would take about 4 hours at $90 hr plus seals. I guess that sounds fair concidering that it would take me three times that time.
I wish I could fill it with amodium AD to stop the leak. :) |
Sometimes a clonoscope is called for . Had two, going in for a third. $700 a wack! Dam polps!!!!
